7th Annual Golf Tournament - recap

The 7th Annual Connecticut DeMolay Golf Tournament was held on Tuesday June 7th at the Farms Golf Course in Wallingford CT. Eighteen foursomes teed off at 10 AM amidst some minor showers and a threat of rain.

Many golfers and supporters of DeMolay came to play golf through thick and thin for the benefit of Connecticut DeMolay. Special events such as the longest drive, closest to the pin and the State Master Councilors 50/50 raffle at the 16th green were held. Spectacular shots, dug up earth, shots of joy and looks of gloom were witnessed by all who played.

At the end of the day when the dust settled and the rains finally came the tournament was over. Last standing and the winner of the tournament was Executive Officer, Harry Needham's foursome. (Harry Needham III , Joe Celotto, Dave Rybacki and Angelo DeMatteo).

Many were surprised to see that result but Dad Needham assured all that his partners with their great drives and himself with four one puts in four of the last five holes was the real thing, granting that on a day that started with a rainy mist , had a bright sunshine and an eruption of rain during the awards banquet anything could happen including a victory.

Special thanks to Dad Christopher Earle, President of the Connecticut DeMolay Foundation , Dad David Stern, co-chairman, the golf committee, Mom Dori Stern for financial and tournament setup and the players and sponsors for making this the 7th Annual Connecticut DeMolay Golf Tournament a great success.

We look forward to seeing you all next year when we look to double our players.
