Every year, Advisors and DeMolay's from all over Region One, get to get together in the New Hampshire wilderness to teach and learn about DeMolay, we call this Leadership Training Camp or LTC. For newer members we learn about DeMolay basics, how ritual can be fun and how to help make DeMolay fun. For those who may be Master Councilors soon, we learn to be effective leaders, how to make a term plan and the importance of recruiting new members. For the older members, that may become our State Officers, the Jurisdictional Officer program will help guide us to being attentive to the needs of the chapters and engaged in running a State program for the year. And for Advisors that want a some more information about how they can help guide there is the Advisor program. LTC provides all of this, for all of these different needs, in just 1 week, and it's a lot of fun too.
Last week Connecticut had the pleasure of sending 19 DeMolays, 2 Advisors, and 4 staff members - the most from any jurisdiction in the region.
For everyone who attended it was a fantastic time, and a nonstop DeMolay experience. The classes taught at LTC will help DeMolay grow and become even better. In attendance at this LTC, was our State Master Councilor, Nicholas Carpenter, who will be using the experience gained to make state events and DeMolay the best it can be for the coming year.
We all arrived back home, on Saturday, August 23rd, with cell service and smiles on our faces. When we arrived at the Grand Lodge Offices, we were greeted by Executive Officer, Dad Needham and Grand Master, Dad Simon LaPlace.
For those who have not been to LTC, I highly recommend making plans to attend next year.
